MedX Laser Therapy in Bowmanville

Laser Therapy at Our Clinic

Our clinic uses the MedX Class 3B therapeutic laser system to support recovery from musculoskeletal injuries such as tendon problems, joint pain, and sports injuries. Laser therapy delivers specific wavelengths of light to tissues to support the body’s natural healing processes. At Telma Grant Physio & Sports Therapy, we’re proud to offer this advanced technology to our patients in Bowmanville.

How the MedX Laser Works

The MedX system allows clinicians to treat both the broader joint region and the specific painful structure during the same treatment session.

Handheld Laser Probe

• Uses near-infrared laser light at approximately 785 nm.
• Designed for targeted treatment of tendons, ligaments, trigger points, and joint lines.
• Contains three infrared laser diodes and delivers approximately 1 joule of energy every 5 seconds.

SLD Diode Clusters

• Deliver broader light therapy using near-infrared light at approximately 870 nm.
• Each cluster contains 52 infrared diodes.
• Nine visible red guide lights assist clinicians in positioning the device.
• Can be secured around joints for hands-free treatment of larger areas.

This combination allows the clinician to treat surrounding tissues while also targeting specific structures that may be contributing to pain or dysfunction.
